The following announcement was sent to State agencies by the New York State Office of Employee Relations on Sunday, Feb. 22:

Due to the severe weather conditions anticipated to impact Bronx, Dutchess, Kings, Nassau, New York, Orange, Putnam, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties on Monday, February 23, State agencies are instructed to have all non-essential employees who live or work in these counties telecommute for the entire workday where possible.

Those non-essential employees who live or work in those counties who cannot telecommute are subject to a directed absence for Monday, February 23 without charge to leave accruals. Essential staff should report to work as directed.
Please note that if you have non-essential staff that work on Sunday afternoon after 4 pm, they are covered by this same directive. Again, essential staff should report as directed.
Accordingly, PEF members should have received or will soon receive instructions from their agencies. If you have questions about reporting to work tomorrow, contact your supervisor. If you are a non-essential employee represented by PEF and you are asked to charge accruals tomorrow, contact your Steward.
