PEF has negotiated a temporary agreement to raise the overtime rate paid to certain titles at OMH hospitals. The following PEF titles at OMH hospitals, excluding the Nathan Kline Institute, are eligible: Nurse 1, Nurse 2, Nurse 2 (Psychiatric), Nurse 3 (Psychiatric), Community Mental Health Nurse, Infection Control Nurse, Nurse Administrator 1 (Psychiatric) and Nurse Administrator 2 (Psychiatric). The agreement increases your overtime rate to 2.5 times your regular rate of pay for pay periods 17 through 21. Specifically, it covers hours worked starting Nov. 3, 2021, at 11 p.m. through Jan. 12, 2022, at 10:59 p.m., when the agreement expires.
The union realizes this does not solve the staffing issues many of you have been experiencing for years, but it’s one way to reward your hard work. We continue to push for safe staffing measures and hazard pay for all PEF members deemed essential during the COVID state of emergency.
