For PEF members or anyone else who qualifies, rental assistance is available from the federal government. The program targets low and moderate-income households at risk of homelessness or housing instability. Significant economic relief providing rental arrears, temporary rental assistance and utility arrears assistance is now available.

Residents can apply for the federally funded Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), which covers households with income up to 80 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI), as well as a new, state-funded program for households with income between 80 and 120 percent AMI.

Applications for all eligible households are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, as long as funds remain available.
