{"id":6771,"date":"2023-01-16T14:02:15","date_gmt":"2023-01-16T19:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pef.org\/?p=6771"},"modified":"2023-01-30T09:11:59","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T14:11:59","slug":"pef-calls-on-the-senate-to-consider-and-vote-on-judge-lasalle-appointment-after-a-full-hearing-before-the-senate-judiciary-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pef.org\/articles\/press-releases\/pef-calls-on-the-senate-to-consider-and-vote-on-judge-lasalle-appointment-after-a-full-hearing-before-the-senate-judiciary-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"PEF calls on the Senate to Consider and Vote on Judge LaSalle Appointment After a Full Hearing Before the Senate Judiciary Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>PEF issued the following statement on Jan. 16, 2023, in advance of the Senate Judiciary hearing for Justice Hector LaSalle<\/em>:\u00a0 One of the fundamental values of the New York State Public Employees Federation is due process, and PEF has every confidence that the Senate Judiciary Committee will provide Justice Hector LaSalle with due process through a full and fair hearing, but due process cannot be complete without a vote on his confirmation by the full Senate once that hearing has been concluded. \u00a0Since his nomination, Judge LaSalle has been the subject of significant criticism, but has had no opportunity to respond.
