The Governor&#8217;s proposed $75 million investment in the FY 2026 Executive Budget would transform the future of developmental disability services in New York State.<\/p>\n<p>This substantial funding will enhance IBR&#8217;s capacity to deliver cutting-edge research and services to individuals, ensuring that New Yorkers receive the highest standard of care and support. Governor Hochul&#8217;s proactive approach stands in stark contrast to previous considerations of facility closures, exemplifying her administration&#8217;s dedication to strengthening essential public health infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Governor Hochul&#8217;s investment in IBR is a testament to her recognition of the critical work performed by our members and PEF will work with the Governor to secure this important proposal in the final budget agreement,&#8221; said PEF President Wayne Spence. &#8220;This funding not only secures the future of IBR but also reinforces the state&#8217;s commitment to advancing research and services for developmental disabilities.
