The Pu\"\"blic Employees Federation, in honor of the union’s late Vice President Jean DeBow, created this scholarship. It was conceived to support PEF women who are pursing college studies. To be eligible, you must be an active female member of the union enrolled in a post-secondary education in any field of study. Applicants must be presently enrolled and include a proof of enrollment as part of their application.<\/p>\n

One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually at PEF Convention. Applications are due by May 1 each year and can be mailed to:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Applicants must submit the required information (#1 through #7), below, along with an essay (150-word limit). The student must also include at least one reference memo from a PEF member about why they should be considered. The memo should be 150 words or fewer as well. There is no limit on the number of PEF members a sponsor can nominate.<\/p>\n

The PEF Scholarship Committee will review the applications with all reference to the applicant\u2019s name removed. PEF encourages all eligible women pursuing a college degree to apply.<\/p>\n

Once an applicant wins and accepts the award, they will no longer be eligible to apply in the future.<\/p>\n

  7. List any Awards including any for union activities<\/li>\n
