He is also a PEF member of nearly 20 years, the Division 180 council leader, an executive board member, a convention delegate, co-chair of the Statewide Nurses Committee, a member of the Statewide Contract team and the PEF OMH Labor Management Committee\u2019s Assistant Chair.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7475\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7475\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7475 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pef.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Catt.jpg\" alt=\"Vincent Cicatello\" width=\"200\" height=\"267\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7475\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vince Cicatello, Region 1 Coordinator<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">He was elected by Region 1 members in June 2025 to be their regional coordinator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cicatello comes from a union family. Members of his family have worked in factories and on infrastructure construction projects across New York State.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cMy grandma and her brother were both workers for General Motors,\u201d said Cicatello. \u201cMy great grandfather worked on bridges across the state and was an operating engineer for Local 17. My mother worked for the Communications Workers of America at St. Joe\u2019s Hospital and my brother is a member of ASCFME.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cicatello wants to tackle some of the big issues facing unions and believes that fixing Tier 6 of the New York State retirement plan will attract more professionals to public service.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">His main goals for Region 1 are to reinvigorate the Political Action Committee (PAC) in the region, as well as restart the Political Action Liaison (PAL) program. He also hopes to make Region 1\u2019s attendance at the Labor Day Parade in Buffalo better than ever.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cicatello is ready for the challenges to come and aims to build a Region 1 that members in the area will be proud of and that reflects the momentum he knows is already there.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cI am ready to go, I am not going to let anyone down,\u201d Cicatello said. \u201cI want people to contact me, I want them to know I am, and that I am ready to serve in this position.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vincent Cicatello is a Registered Nurse at Buffalo Psychiatric Center.
