Congress to Repeal Cadillac Tax in 2020
Statement from PEF President Wayne Spence:
I am happy to report that leaders of both houses of Congress have reached agreement to include a repeal of the so-called Cadillac Tax on high-priced health care plans in the 2020 federal government budget.
This is a victory for union members, many of whom have sacrificed wage increases for better, higher-end healthcare plans.
New York’s senior Senator Chuck Schumer told me that he credits PEF, along with other New York state unions for our strong and consistent lobbying effort to get this tax repealed.
