This four-session workshop will help participants develop skills for visualizing and analyzing data. Topics will include descriptive statistics, histograms, cross tabulations and pivot tables, correlation and regression, and confidence intervals.
The use of graphs to explore patterns and relationships in the data will be emphasized. Data sets are provided for practice in building statistical analysis skills. Microsoft Excel will be used as a tool for learning about data analysis and the workshop will be delivered virtually using Zoom.
Each participant will be required to participate in all exercises using their computer.
Prerequisite: Familiarity with Excel, including knowing how to enter simple formulas and use built-in function, and completion of the New York State GOER Working with Data (Online) course component prior to attending.
