If you participate in the state’s deferred compensation plan or want to  and you will receive retroactive pay under the new PS&T contract in early November, this is for you.

The New York State Deferred Compensation Plan (457b) will host educational webinars October 12 and 13 for PEF members who are thinking about enrolling in the plan. The webinars are intended specifically for those who will receive retroactive pay in November.

The NYSDCP is a supplemental retirement plan — also known as a 457(b) plan — and its mission is to help state and local public employees achieve their retirement savings goals and help bridge any potential financial gap in retirement.

Plan staff will review the benefits of participating in the plan and will explain how to enroll.  The webinars also will tell you how and when to change your payroll contributions specifically for retro payments, and plan “Catch-Up” provisions.  You will have a chance to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
