PEF members can take advantage of a series of upcoming Public Service Workshop trainings, including defense documentation for nurses, preparing written communication for executives, managing the team report writing process, managing multiple priorities, and medication safety.

Defensive Documentation for Nurses will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 12 and will teach the legal and ethical aspects of medical case documentation and record-keeping, with a focus on litigation preparation and understanding as it relates to fact-finding and  best practice strategies.

The Preparing Written Communication for Executives two-session workshop will provide participants with techniques for improving written communications to executive management, including strategies for preparing high level communications in a clear, concise, grammatically correct format. The workshop is Nov. 16 and 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The two-session Managing the Team Report Writing Process workshop examines best practices for combining the written efforts of more than one person in one comprehensive report and is geared toward lead writers, team members or administrators that would benefit from tools and techniques for group writing coordination. The workshop is Nov. 17 and 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Managing Multiple Priorities is designed to develop skills in setting goals, prioritizing, and managing simultaneous responsibilities and activities in today’s fast-paced work environments. The workshop is Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

In the Medication Safety: Identifying and Preventing Errors workshop, participants will discuss how to reduce medication errors and the efficacy of various prevention strategies. They will develop an understanding of drug safety and quality issues. The workshop is Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon.
