PEF Region 3 Coordinator – Colleen Williams

Colleen Williams

Colleen Williams, an administrative specialist at the state Department of Transportation, was elected as the PEF Region 3 Coordinator in 2016. Previously, she put in 20 years at the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision as a correction officer and a GED teacher and worked at the Bedford Hills, Fishkill, Butler and Five Points Correctional Facilities. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism at SUNY New Paltz, and a Master of Science in education at Oswego State. Colleen is also New York State certified to teach secondary English.

Williams has held several union roles such as steward, council secretary, a member of the PEF Pride Statewide Committee, chair of the Budget Advisory Committee and is co-chair of PEF’s Political Action Committee in PEF Region 3.

Proud of her PEF region, Williams encourages members to enjoy the highlights such as the Frederick Douglass Monument, National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House, Letchworth State Park, Strong National Museum of Play, George Eastman House, the Lilac Festival and the Rochester International Jazz Festival.

She is also the proud mother of two “kind, gorgeous, and brilliant boys,” Christopher, 16 and Ritchie, 15.
