We are calling on behalf of your union, the Public Employees Federation, to let you know what actions the union is taking to fight devastating budget cuts.

 

New York and the rest of the nation face the most difficult economic crisis since World War II. In New York State alone we are anticipating a $12 billion dollar deficit that may impact thousands of our jobs.

 

We need your help to fight this.

 

PEF and a coalition of over 200 groups have proposed that rather than cutting services the state share the burden by closing corporate loopholes and implements a small temporary income tax surcharge on the state’s wealthiest individuals.

 

We’re asking all PEF members to act now by calling Governor Pataki, Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno and Speaker Sheldon Silver. Tell them you support a balanced approach to solving New York’s fiscal crisis.
