Important Empire Plan Update: Bon Secours Charity Health System

Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Bon Secours Charity Health System have reached agreement for their three hospitals to continue as Empire Plan network facilities. The three hospitals are Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick and Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. The hospitals will continue their network status with no disruption to Empire Plan enrollees.

Since March 10, 2005, Empire Blue Cross and Bon Secours had agreed to temporary extensions of their previous contract, allowing Empire Plan enrollees to continue to receive network services at the three hospitals. The last temporary extension was due to expire on July 1, 2005. As a result of the agreement announced today, the hospitals will continue their network status, and we are pleased that all benefits continued uninterrupted during this period of negotiation.
