Contract Justice NOW!
Union Rally
Batavia School for the Blind
May 2nd - 3:15 PM
Negotiating a contract since April 1, 1999
Join your union brothers and sisters at this important rally and show your support for their fight for a fair and just contract. Below are the reasons why!
MANAGEMENT DEMANDS GIVEBACKS INCLUDING:
ü
$4000 per year in cash and benefits from staff pocketsü
Refusal to grant the same raises all other NYS employees have receivedü
Deny the same year long Health Insurance coverage provided to all other school employees of the State of New YorkFACTS:
The School, SED and Governor’s Office have been negotiating with PEF for almost 2 years. The most significant stumbling block to an agreement is the employer’s refusal to give to School employees the same benefits given to all other employees: Payment of Performance Advances on September, 2000 and an option for all full time school employees to keep their health insurance during the summer. We do not perform second class work and don’t deserve to be treated like second class citizens!
Directions: NYS Thruway exit 48. Upon exiting the toll booths, make a left onto Route 98 (Oak Street). Stay in the left lane and go to the next light (approximately three blocks). Make a left at the light onto Richmond Avenue. The school is located on the left about two blocks up, across from the town park.
Call PEF’s Region 3 Field office at 1-800-724-5003 for any additional information.
