Welcome to  PEF's 2007 PS&T Online Contract Negotiations
Committed to keeping our members and activists informed 24/7

Dear PEF member:

This web site will provide you with information on the contract negotiations process. For other relevant information about the 2007 negotiations, we encourage you and your co-workers to sign up for the PEF email update called AIM (Active Informed Member). Visit us at http://www.unionvoice.org/pef/home.html

Successful negotiations results from a partnership between those at the bargaining table and those they represent.

Many of you were involved in the last contract fight. You were, in fact, instrumental in our success at the bargaining table. We thank you who are now seasoned in the fight and welcome you back. We also welcome those new to this partnership.

The fact is, when PEF members participate — when you make your voice heard, we at the bargaining table are empowered. Action away from the bargaining table truly brings victory to the table.

Membership participation includes any one of many different ways of communicating a message for a fair and just contract. Examples include joining a protest, calling your elected leaders from the toll free AFL-CIO hotline (1-877-255-9417), hand billing a work location, writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper, speaking with your co-workers in other unions about the power of fighting together, getting signatures on a petition, and so on.

During the next few months we will be reaching out to the members in two important ways: we will be doing a broad based survey to learn about the general priorities our members have for the next round of bargaining. Following up on those results, we will have meetings throughout the state so the contract team can hear directly from the membership about important issues of the day.

We commit to keep our members and activists informed so that we all convey a unified message for a just and fair contract to the state negotiators, the legislators and the public. Together, in partnership with you, we will succeed in achieving our common goals.

Thank you for being with us.

Sincerely,
Kenneth Brynien,                       Lou Matrazzo,
President                                    Contract 2007 Chairperson and
                                                   Vice President
