TABLE TALK
It has been an interesting week.

Early in the week the State maintained its position that without PEF's agreement to changes in 12.17 no other issues would be resolved at the bargaining table. Your Contract Team remained resolute in its position that no changes were necessary in 12.17. As a result, there were no negotiations sessions this week and the Team members returned to their homes across the State.

On Thursday, the State expressed an interest in returning to the table. A meeting is being arranged at this writing and the Contract Team is returning to Albany. Our position on 12.17 has not changed.

There have been many starts and stops, twists and turns in this 18 month process. This may be another dead end. Our goal remains though to achieve the best possible contract settlement and every opportunity will be fully explored.

CONTRACT FIGHTBACK ACTIVITIES
In the meantime our Contract Fight Back Campaign continues. Following the very successful rally at the Wolfert's Roost in Albany on June 28 (see photos and a video clip at http://www.thecommunicator.org/timeclockrallyweb/timeclockrally.htm) full page ads have been placed in Capital District newspapers in response to a GOER letter to local papers (see the ad copy at http://www.thecommunicator.org/prads.htm) and we have prepared and are in the process of scheduling a full page advertisement for the New York Times regarding our dispute.

Three rallies are imminent and it is important to our contract success that they by well attended!

- July 12 and 15 in Region 9 -  Read specifics at http://www.unionvoice.org/pef/notice-description.tcl?newsletter_id=984729

- July 21 Statewide Rally - See flier at  http://www.pef.org/special_postings/rallyfly2.pdf

A 6 panel Contract update to all members is in the process of being finalized.

Many more activities are on our radar screen and folks should look to AIM, our website and the Hotline for the most recent information.

Thank you for your support!
