NO MORE LAYOFFS — PEF members marching in the New York City Labor Day Parade September 5, chant their opposition to threatened upcoming layoffs of state workers. Marchers carried life-size photos of fellow members in Regions 10 and 9 who are slated to lose their jobs. Pictured in The Communicator masthead is Karen Waithe, an employee at PEF’s New York City office, as she distributes literature about the layoffs to the parade crowd. – Photo by Robert Jackson
