PEF Division 240 members turn out for contract update – Sept 2019

PEF Division 240 members turn out for contract update

Approximately 200 members of PEF Division 240 at the state Insurance Fund in New York City turned out for a general membership meeting August 9 to hear from PEF leaders and members of the union’s PS&T Contract Team.

Division 240 Council Leader and Executive Board member Kathy Czachorowski, said the lunch-time meeting was held in two sessions to allow for maximum attendance.

SPREADING THE WORD – PEF President Wayne Spence updates members of PEF Division 240 at their August 9 membership meeting in New York City on the union’s efforts to win a fair contract with the state. He and PEF Contract Chair Darlene Williams urged the members to march with their families and PEF in the city’s annual labor parade September 7.

In addition to PEF President Wayne Spence and Contract Team Chair Darlene Williams, who is also PEF Region 10 coordinator, the members heard from PEF COPE Coordinator Don Morgenstern and representatives of the PEF Membership Benefits Program.

Spence and Williams urged the members bring their families September to march with PEF in the NYC Labor Parade, They said it is an opportunity to have fun with their families and to show the governor that PEF members are unified behind their contract team and its efforts to win a fair contract.

Czachorowski said the meeting was “a huge success. Our members showed keen interest in the discussion and information that was presented.”
