Three Executive Board seats filled
Election to be held for EBoard Seat 177
The following individuals were seated as unopposed nominees certified in the 2018 fourth-quarter special election, and will be sworn in at the November board meeting.
Sabu Cherian fills Seat 50, which represents members at the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
Gerard Riconda fills Seat 325 at the state Office of Mental Health.
Kenneth Dischel fills Seat 385 at the state Office of Mental Health (South Beach).
An election is also being held between two candidates certified to fill a mid-term vacancy for Seat 177, which represents members from the Office of Information Technology Services. Ballots will be mailed November 23 by the American Arbitration Association to constituents of Seat 177, and must be returned by December 17 for counting on December 18, 2018.
The following Seats will again run in the January, 2019 Special Elections:
Seat 1 (State Department of Agriculture and Markets); Seat 225 (Department of Labor); Seat 425 (Public Service); Seat 430 (Office of Children and Family Services); Seat 460 (Department of State); Seat 540 (National Development and Research Institute and Eastern Niagara Lockport); and, Seat 545 (Albany Housing Authority, Albany County Probation and Allegany County Employees).
Seat 95 (SUNY Upstate Main Campus) vacated by Brian Langdon, and Seat 75 (Education Department, Albany) vacated by Kevin Kroencke, will be added to the January, 2019 elections. The petitioning and balloting dates will be announced by the PEF Special Elections Committee in the near future. — Deborah A. Miles
