Election to be held for E Board Seat 485
One of three current mid-term vacancies on the PEF Executive Board has been filled by a nominee who was the sole candidate certified for that seat. An election is being held between two candidates certified to fill a second mid-term vacancy, and no candidates were certified following petitioning to fill the third board vacancy.
Kevin Wilson was the only candidate whose nomination was certified for Board Seat 395, which represents members at Sagamore Psychiatric Center for Children and Youth, Long Island Developmental Disabilities Services Office, and PEF Region 12 members at the main office of the state Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.
Both Edward Bellamy and Barbara Ulmer were certified as candidates for Board Seat 485 which represents members of PEF Division 190B who work for the state Department of Taxation and Finance (Audit Income/Franchise and Audit-Transaction Tax) in PEF Region 8.
Ballots will be mailed May 17 by the American Arbitration Association to constituents of Seat 485. Those ballots must be returned to AAA by June 8, for counting June 9.
No nominations were submitted for Seat 545, which represents members working in the following political subdivisions of New York state: Albany Housing Authority; Albany County Probation; and Allegany County. Nominations will be sought for that vacancy in the third quarter special elections cycle that will begin in July. — Sherry Halbrook
