A time to network, learn and enjoy unionism in PEF Reg. 9
PEF Region 9 members, who work at almost all of the state-operated agencies and facilities in seven counties just north of New York City, have an exceptional opportunity to get to know each other, learn more about the value of union membership, and enjoy an all-paid conference at the Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center.
Vivian Street, PEF Region 9 Coordinator, said this year’s leadership conference is open to rank-and-file members as well as those elected to local PEF positions.
“Our goal is to involve as many members as possible and to educate them on the issues facing the labor movement and to enhance member engagement,” Street said.
The conference will include workshops and guest speakers, along with tips and tools to effectively use in workplaces to stimulate union power. There also will be a separate steward training, which elected stewards will be required to spend a full day of training to receive the credit.
The conference will be held Friday, March 16, and ends on Sunday, March 18, around noon. There is no charge to attend. Rooms and meals are included, but members must provide their own transportation.
If you are interested in attending, R.S.V.P. to Susan Finck at gro.f1519275474ep@kc1519275474nifS1519275474 no later than Friday, March 2.
