Current and Upcoming Security Measures
DISCUSSION
Mr. Morehouse provided a summary of the implementation schedule for the new security measures over the next 4-8 weeks. A number of improvements will require employees to swipe in OFT space over and above past practices. Control doors will be installed in the lobbies and basement levels of Swan Street. Stairways will be under closed circuit cameras. North Pearl Street will have improvements made within the office locations themselves on floors 5-7. Buildings 8 and 12 will have swipe cards for their designated areas. Additional controls will be used to segregate OFT space from other agencies.
Punch locks will be replaced with the standard OGS Smart Card which will contain both the bar code and a contactless chip. PIN numbers will be used as a secondary security measure in certain areas such as the data center. Walkways between the 4th and 5th floors will be secured. The system will be monitored to prevent “tail gating” and insure each person is detected. The chip has the potential to function as electronic cash or for parking but will not be used as a time tracking device. Cap Net will be the first to test the system upon receiving their cards within the month. They will be followed by Swan Street and Buildings 8 and 12.

OFT Holiday Party
DISCUSSION
Management asked that PEF encourage its members to attend the first OFT holiday party to be held on December 19 from 1:00-5:00 pm. This OFT/PEF/CSEA joint function is hoped to be a success. PEF questioned the course of action to take place if a supervisor does not appreciate ticket sales occurring during working hours or on the premises. Management did not anticipate any problems based on the results from the summer picnic but offered to intervene if any situations surfaced. A reminder will be sent out by management today.

Other Business
DISCUSSION
Compressed Work Schedules – Management explained that, based on GOER’s feedback, the executive staff will need to review it again prior to the unions’ review. It will be an agency-wide policy, based on operational needs.
Multi-Agency EAP – Two individuals have been selected. Approval is pending from GOER and DOB. Management will keep PEF up to date on any progress.
