PEF rallies for Wisconsin workers; against state tax cuts for millionaires
Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 5:55PM PEF members are being urged to join a solidarity rally for Wisconsin workers on Saturday, February 26 at the west side of the State Capitol in Albany at 12 noon.
PEF President Ken Brynien said, “We need to show support for our union brothers and sisters in Wisconsin. This is a difficult time for all public employees, and PEF is a part of this national battle to save jobs and benefits.”
Another rally for Wisconsin workers will be held, Tuesday March 2 at 4:30 p.m. at the Rochester City Hall.
PEF members also are invited to join a rally/solidarity event on Thursday, March 3 with the Teamsters Local 445 Union at 4:30 p.m. at 15 Stone Castle Road, Rock Tavern in the Hudson Valley. For more information, call Beth Soto at (518) 567-7760.
PEF Region 8 members will hold a rally to stop the tax cuts for millionaires. It will be held Tuesday, March 1 at 12:15 p.m. at the west side of the Capitol in Albany. President Brynien said the proposed budget provides a massive tax cut for the wealthiest three percent of New Yorkers, when working families are struggling.
