Rally planned to save health care services in Brooklyn
Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:54AM PEF members will join other union members from the Civil Service Employees Association and the United University Professions at a rally to protest the closing of the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center in Brooklyn, and to close beds at SUNY Downstate University Hospital and shift inpatient operations to Long Island College Hospital campus. The rally will take place Wednesday, February 8 at 11:30 a.m. at 280 Park Avenue, between 48th and 49th Streets, in Manhattan. The location is in front of the building where investment banker Stephen Berger has an office. Berger is responsible for making the recommendations to close and limit health care services for a low-income population in Brooklyn.
