PEF launches ad campaign to promote state workers

PEF is launching a statewide advertising campaign to educate the public and state lawmakers on the value of state employees. The campaign will include television, print and web advertising and will kick off the weekend of March 6.

Members continue to raise money for Haiti

PEF members in Divisions 251 and 257 are working with the Haitian Student Association at the State University of New York in Albany on a fundraiser for Haiti. The gala will be Saturday, March 6 at the Century House in Latham at 8 p.m. The cost is $20. For more information, contact Marie-Carmelle Souffrant at mariecarme2002@yahoo.com.

PEF Executive Board approves fight-back campaign

PEF’s Executive Board met last week and approved a state budget-fight-back campaign to be launched March 8. Members should stay tuned by checking for updates on the PEF Web site.

PEF political activists plan for Budget Lobby Day

PEF’s political activists are gearing up to meet lawmakers Tuesday, February 23 in Albany to address the union’s concerns about the state budget. Across the state, PEF activists will also be meeting with legislators in district offices.

The PEF Executive Board will hold its quarterly meeting Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19 in Albany. The Board will review the PEF’s state budget campaign and legislative agenda.
