Contract team continues statewide meetings with members

PEF’s contract team will meet with members this week to discuss the PS&T tentative agreement and answer any questions members may have about the agreement before the ballots are due September 26. The team will be in Buffalo on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 6 and 7. On Thursday, September 8, the team will meet with members in Syracuse. On Friday, September 9, meetings will take place in Rochester. For specific times and locations, call the PEF regional field office in your area.

PEF’s contract team meets with members statewide

Members of the PEF PS&T contract team will meet with members to discuss the tentative agreement before they vote. This week, the team will be in Long Island on Monday, August 22. For times and locations of the meetings, call the Region 12 office at 1-800-832-5284.

In PEF Region 8, meetings will take place Tuesday, August 23 from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Empire State Plaza and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at PEF headquarters. On Wednesday, August 24, a meeting will be held at Pagliacci’s Restaurant on South Pearl Street in Albany from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. and in the evening at the New York State United Teachers headquarters in Latham from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The team will visit members in the Hudson Valley on Thursday, August 25 and Friday, August 26. Meetings will be held Thursday morning at 11:30 to 3 p.m. at the Rockland Psychiatric Center and from 5:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Elks Lodge at 29 Overocker Road in Poughkeepsie. On Friday, the team will be at the State Insurance Fund in White Plains from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and at the Fishkill Correctional Facility QWL Building on Matteawn Road from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On Monday, August 29, the team will meet with members in Elmira. Call the PEF Region 2 office at 1-800-724-5001 for details.

Ballots will be mailed to the PEF membership September 2, and are due back no later than September 26. They will be counted September 27.

PEF’s Executive Board votes yes to send tentative deal to members

PEF’s Executive Board voted to send the tentative agreement with the state to the full membership August 11. Members will be receiving a booklet containing the complete text of the agreement, a summary of the changes, and a table of the gains and trade-offs.

Meetings are being held in every PEF region for members to meet with the contract team to discuss the tentative agreement during August and September. Upcoming  meetings are scheduled for Monday, August 15 and August 22 in Long Island; on Tuesday, August 16 and Wednesday, August 17 in Manhattan; on Thursday, August 18 and Friday, August 19 on Staten Island and in Brooklyn and Queens. Call your regional PEF office for locations and times.

PEF Executive Board votes on tentative agreement

The PEF Executive Board will meet August 11 and August 12 in Albany and will vote on sending the tentative agreement to the PEF membership. If the Executive Board votes to send the tentative agreement to the members for ratification, members will be mailed a booklet containing the complete text of the agreement, a summary of the changes and a table of gains and trade-offs immediately following the board vote. Ballots will be mailed to members on September 2nd separate from the contract booklet and will be due back by September 26 and counted September 27.

If the contract is sent to our members, the contract team will be meeting with members in each PEF region during August and September to discuss the tentative agreement and answer any questions members may have.

PEF announces contract ratification schedule

The PEF Executive Board will meet August 11 and August 12 in Albany to vote on whether or not to send the tentative agreement to the PEF membership. If the Board votes to send the tentative agreement to the members for ratification, ballots will be mailed  September 2. Before then, members will receive the text of the contract, a summary of the changes and a table of gains and trade-offs.

Ballots will be due back by September 26 and counted September 27.

During August and September, the contract team will be meeting with members in each PEF region to discuss the tentative agreement and answer any questions members may have.
