Payment dates for raises expected in late June
This is the PEF Information Line for the week of Monday April 21, 2008.
Since the PS&T contract has been ratified, PEF members should expect to see the retroactive pay and other increases starting in late June. Specific information will be available after the pay bill is introduced into the Legislature and processed by the Office of the State Comptroller.
PEF observes Workers Memorial Day, April 28
In observance of Workers’ Memorial Day, PEF will join other labor unions on
Monday, April 28 at the New York State United Teachers headquarters in Latham at
12 p.m. at a ceremony dedicated to lost workers. PEF leaders will be a part of
the event and members are welcome to attend. Members in other PEF regions should
contact their local field office for information on other local services.
SOMOS El Futuro slated for April 25-27
Somos El Futuro, the charitable arm of the Puerto Rican Hispanic Legislative
Task Force, will hold its annual conference in Albany at the Empire State Plaza
beginning Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27.
On Saturday, April 26, PEF will sponsor a Legislative Reception at the Sign of The Tree restaurant from 4 to 6 p.m. PEF members who attend the conference are invited to the reception. If you plan on going, please R.S.V.P. to Kim Partridge at (800) 342-4306 ext. 222.
