Collecting items for Hurricane Sandy suspended; monetary donations to Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund still being accepted

Thank you for your generous donations of clothing, cleaning and other supplies for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  PEF Regional Coordinators in the storm stricken areas tell us they are no longer in need of these types of items, so we will no longer be collecting supplies at PEF Headquarters.  Monetary donations to the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund are still being accepted.

PEF family mourns the loss of one of their own

It is with the deepest sadness and sorrow that we announce the death of our friend and colleague Warren Lew, who passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday night, December 11, 2012.  Warren’s involvment in PEF pre-dates the very existance of our union as he was one of the SEIU staff who worked in the campaign that resulted in PEF’s creation.  Warren was about to take on a new role at PEF – Field Service Director based in our Manhattan office.  We were about to make the announcement when the news of his death reached our offices.  Warren’s dedication and commitment has been an integral part of PEF’s success and growth.  Warren will be missed by his union brother and sisters.  We have reached out to Warren’s family to let them know that Warren was part of our family and we are here to support and help them through this trying time.

As we get more information about his services and what we can do to help his family, we will let you know.
