PEF members march in Brooklyn’s Caribbean American Labor Day Parade on Monday, September 3, 2012

More than 200 PEF members statewide joined PEF leaders at Brooklyn’s Caribbean Day Parade September 3.  The event attracted more than one million people. PEF’s float was designed to let the Brooklyn community know that proposed changes to NYS public policy could cause the closure and downsizing of SUNY Downstate Hospital and Kingsboro Psychiatric Center, threatening vital public health services to the Brooklyn community. PEF President Susan Kent thanks all the members who came out in solidarity to call on Governor Cuomo to meet with PEF leaders to find a solution to continue PEF members’ delivery of vital health services to the Brooklyn community at SUNY Downstate and Kingsboro Pyschiatric Center.
