A Call to Action From the Kent/Garcia Administration
Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 3:18PM Join me, PEF President Susan Kent along with Secretary-Treasurer Carlos Garcia as we stand with PEF members in Brooklyn to ensure public health services for the Brooklyn community at the West Indian American Labor Day Parade on September 3rd. PEF will have a float in the parade to support the continuation of vital public services to the Brooklyn community.
The parade begins at 11 AM. The parade route is Utica Avenue to Grand Army Plaza along Eastern Parkway. The parade route is two miles out and two miles back.
We will be providing a bus to Brooklyn from PEF Headquarters in Latham, NY leaving at 6:00 AM. To the extent possible, we will try to accommodate members outside the Albany area who are interested in standing in solidarity with our members.
If you are interested in walking with the float, carrying a petition and standing with your leaders and fellow members in Brooklyn, please see information below. We know this is a short turnaround time, but response is needed by COB Monday, August 27th. Additional information on where to meet in Brooklyn and approximate bus departure time will be given out at a later date.
