Governor's 30-Day Amendments:

Added $494,600 to the Labor Standards program to the Maintenance Undistributed appropriation to be used for enforcement of Labor Laws. The increase will provide additional funding necessary to comply with Chapter 655 of the Laws of 1999 which created to public work enforcement fund which provides a new funding stream for Labor Law enforcement by the Department of Labor.

Revised Information (January 27, 2000):

An increase of $11 million in new Federal funding for unemployment administration.

The Executive Budget recommends (analysis as of January 12, 2000):

An ASAFL of 4,591 positions, which represents an increase of (2) positions. The information provided by the GOER showing agency by agency break downs of position changes also indicates an end of year FTE fill level of 4,591 but they say this result in no changes in positions.
Adding $166.7 million in Special Revenue-Federal appropriation in the Administration program. This appears related to the Human Services Application Services Center.
Added $230,000 in Maintenance Undistributed to the Employment and Training program for services and expenses to pay fees ordered by a court resulting from proceedings brought against the Department in accordance with Article 86 of the Civil Practice Law and Rules. Article 86 relates to payment of attorney's fees in cases brought against the state.
