An ASAFL of 234 positions which represents a loss of one (-1) position. The information provided by the GOER showing agency by agency break downs of position changes indicates an end of year FTE fill level of 527. We can account for some of this change but this FTE figure seems about 100 too high based on the ASAFL.
Moving the State Museum, State Library and State Archives from the Education Department to the Council establishing a new entity the Office of Cultural Resources on October 1, 2000.
A reduction of $600,000 in the Fiduciary Funds Grants account which is used for promotion of cultural activities. This money comes from revenue generating activity and gifts and donations.

Note: Many of the funding streams associated with this program remain in the State Edcation Department. It appears that the only money moved was from the State Operations appropriation and this appears to have been only done in part. The State Education Department retains an appropriation of $8.6 million in the Cultural Education Program.
