Training Title: Alzheimer’s and Dementia End of Life Care. It’s been a long journey (with CEUs).

This interactive workshop will provide best practice methods and recommendation to help inform and guide end of life care when the patient has dementia. Families and caregivers may come to you with anticipatory grief, compassion fatigue and caregiver burnout.

Very often caregivers have been assisting their loved one for many years. Alzheimer’s and dementia is a neurodegenerative disease that takes many years to develop. We’ll talk about the impact of retrogenesis, dealing with difficult behaviors and how relationships are redefined throughout the progression of the disease. Families of choice, gender identity, and culturally competent practices will be discussed as it relates to dementia care.

You’ll leave this workshop with practical tips and strategies that will enhance and compliment your expertise in providing the best care and support for the families that come to you at perhaps, the most important time in their lives to preserve the dignity and quality of life at the end of life. (3 approved Licensed Master Social Work, Licensed Clinical Social Work, and Licensed Mental Health Counselor continuing education credits).

Training Title: Advancing Equity for ACE Response: An Integral Approach for Policy Equity and Societal Transformation (with CEUs)

The goal of this workshop is to offer a holistic approach to addressing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) by creating cross-sector linkages to advance equity as key to addressing individual, family, and community trauma. Without addressing equity, ACE Response is partial, with agency/community leaders and trauma treatment providers missing crucial opportunities for truly comprehensive response. This workshop provides the tools to advance equity in order to fully address continuous traumatization due to social and systemic disparities. Furthermore, this workshop will offer tools to analyze how equitable policies affect ACE/trauma prevention and intervention activities, as well as how to design ACE Response approaches that involve advancing equity in policy and practice in order to identify viable, real-world solutions. (6.5 approved Licensed Master Social Work, Licensed Clinical Social Work, and Licensed Mental Health Counselor continuing education credits).
