Friedrichs v. CTA

This morning, the nine justices of the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Friedrichs v. CTA, a case that could determine the future of organized labor. The true force behind the case is the Center for Individual Rights, a group funded by the Koch brothers and others determined to continue their attack on workers’ ability to join together and make their voices heard.

More union power brings more resources for public services – better opportunities for our members, safer hospitals and other public facilities, and the best infrastructure for our state. When unions are strong, income inequality lessens and we have a larger and more vibrant middle class.
